Telephone Pavilion Video

This Telephone pavilion video comes from the CBC/Radio-Canada archives. About 2 minutes into it, two ultra-happy hostesses give a bilingual demonstration of exciting future phone technology, including phone banking, call waiting and a popular Expo attraction: the videophone.

"This is the way we pay a bill..."

Hilarious. Interesting how they're touting all of these features, and yet the TouchTone™ keypads have no star or pound keys. I guess it's all contained in the punchcard.

I don't know if it's still there but, in the early 80's, the original movie from the telephone pavilion was playing in the Canada building at Epcot.
I'm from Chicago and turned 14 during the summer of 67. I spent six weeks with family in Montreal, most of it at Expo. What great memories! Thank you!!

I also remember this pavilion mainly for it's 360 degree movie theater.

A portion of the film was flying over parts of Canada, I especially remember when they flew over Niagara Falls. I had to hold onto the railing because I got a little dizzy.
